Organising children’s birthday parties can be a source of stress – as well a fun – for parents, especially when it comes to deciding on a fun activity that will keep lots of kids entertained and be something that your child will enjoy and remember as they grow up.
Why pottery painting?
Children love to throw themselves into creative activities (which can often make a lot of mess!), so what better way to let them get stuck in than away from home where everything is provided and organised for you. Pottery painting is a great group activity for children (and well behaved adults!) of all ages because it gives everyone the chance to create their own masterpiece whilst enjoying watching how everyone else’s pieces develop. (Have a read of our pottery painting tips before you get started to get the most out of the experience.)
Not only will the kids have lots of fun painting their pottery pieces, but they’ll also have the anticipation of what it is going to look like once it has been cured in our kiln and then they can come and pick it up and take it home as a keepsake from your party. There’s nothing that will make parents prouder than a piece of pottery on their shelf or in their kitchen cupboard that their child has painted themselves!
How do I organise a children’s pottery painting party?
We hire out our private space upstairs for children’s parties so you won’t need to worry about disturbing other customers and all the children at your party are in one place where you can see them! We provide all of the paints, brushes and equipment your guests will need so all you need to bring are the children and their creative minds. Either decide with us beforehand what the children will be painting or let them pick out the pieces for themselves (prices of the pottery range from £8-£30).
Painting pottery can be hungry work so our menu ensures that all spirits are kept high and tummies full! For children’s parties we serve a mixture of ‘no gunk, no junk’ mini pizzas, chocolate spread on toast, fruit, nacho crisps and ice cream (if you want to change the menu, please just let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate). Alternatively if you’d prefer to just come along and paint pottery, we can offer a separate package deal which doesn’t include food – £13 per child without food, £18 per child with food.
Parties can be booked from 10am-12pm or 2pm-4pm with exclusive use of the party room. This will give your guests plenty of time to perfect their masterpieces – and you can always carry on the party in the main café downstairs after your time is up.
Please get in touch if you are interested in booking a party for your child, or to enquire about the adult parties (including baby showers and hen dos) and corporate away day packages we can offer.
